Paul Bosch is a student Integrated Product Design and wants to start up a company to develop products that allow sustainable consumption. As a start, he will design the first ergonomic, smart and sustainable sleeping mattress for his graduation project. The project will be part of the Circular Innovation Hubs of the Centre for Sustainability!
He is looking for other students to join this project and make it an interdisciplinary research project. Are you a student with a background in business development, sustainable materials, ergonomics or smart technology & electronics? Then you are more than welcome to join!

Background information
The mattress market has become attractive after several mattress startups introduced other business models and focused on consumer experience. European startups currently share about 2% of the European market, and there is potential to grow much bigger. But these startups lack innovation and competitive advantage, even though their high price margins allow for this.
Therefore, this mattress will be mentally and physically healthy, through researching the best sleeping surface and offering smart technological solutions for sleeping problems. This is done by measuring, monitoring and controlling sleep parameters. The mattress will be sustainable by getting rid of foams and finding materials not harmful for our environment.
