Network Session Dura Vermeer

On March 18th the Circular Industries Hub organised an online brainstorm session with Dura Vermeer, a large Dutch company active in projects on housing, utility construction and infrastructure. Under the theme ‘Circular Economy in the construction sector made practical’, a set of tangible and real life challenges concerning implementing circular economy practices in the construction sector were defined and presented to a group of students from the Leiden University, Erasmus University Rotterdam and Delft University of Technology. The students received an 30 minutes introduction by the Circular Industries Hub and Dura Vermeer and then engaged in a lively discussion with Dura Vermeer representatives for approximately an hour.

Dura VermeerThree questions DuraVermeer had on circular economy were discussed. Students spoke with DuraVermeer employees about the setting of these questions, methods to answer the questions and organisational aspects on circular economy.

Both the students and the employees from Dura Vermeer enjoyed this opportunity to clarify assumptions and explore new possibilities for the practical challenges of Circular Economy in the construction sector. At the Circular Industries Hub, we would like to thank the involvement of the participants and Dura Vermeer in realising the session.

This brainstorm session was given as part of InSysHub, an activity of the European Innovation and Technology program Raw Materials (EIT-RM).
