The Circular Industries Talks are organized every second Wednesday at the Circular Industries Hub. In this edition, Francesco De Fazio, Senior Sustainable Design Engineer at Accenture, talks about CEP Circular Electronics Design Guide: a guide co-developed by 60 experts from 25 leading organizations in the field of circular electronics. Curious for more? Take a look at the recording at the bottom of this page.
The Circular Electronics Design Guide (CEDG) is a freely-available, detailed and comprehensive resource, designed to guide
practitioners across the electronic product value chain through the complexities of embedding circular design. This work was led by Accenture, the Circular Electronics Partnership, the Circular Design Forum, and 60 experts from 25 leading organizations. Through this collaboration, Accenture reinforced its commitment to driving systemic change through cross company collaboration, for a sustainable future. With expertise from its Strategy and Industrial Design teams, the Circular Innovation Process was shaped to outline the role of design at various levels to accelerate the circular transition in electronics. This includes designing transitions to shift from a linear to a circular organization, product offerings, and ecosystems. It delves into designing organization-wide enabling conditions, establishing comprehensive circularity frameworks, creating innovative circular value propositions, and implementing of strategies like repair, refurbishment, and recycling across product design, operations, and user engagement. Actionable insights, case studies and best practices from contributors have been captured to highlight real-world applications across organizational, product, and operational levels.
