The Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Centre of Sustainability presents: “Mission to Mars: What horticulture and space exploration can learn from each other”. This is a series of 7 lectures, starting on Friday 19 January 2018 from 15:00 till 17:00 in the new World Horti Center in Naaldwijk.
Location: Europa 1, 2672 ZX Naaldwijk, Westland
On 7 March we will talk about "Urban and Vertical Farming".
Why Mission to Mars?
The Greenport Hub wants to connect the daily practice of horticulture with scientific insights from different disciplines. This is why we introduce the Lecture Series "Mission to Mars", led by the biologist, artists and space systems researcher Angelo Vermeulen. During the lectures, Dr. Angelo Vermeulen (TU Delft) will focus on the latest developments in horticulture technology, and clarify the science underpinning them. He will also show how these technologies might enable us to colonize Mars, and what the horticulture sector can learn from space mission concepts.
Who can join?
We invite professionals, researchers and students to join the “Mission to Mars” lecture series. Entrance is free, but registration is required.
